I know there are mice and rabbits nearby, and it’s only a matter of time before they find our garden. Any suggestions on how to protect the raised garden bed? Thanks!

I am redoing the garden in the front of my house. I am not good with plants so professional landscaping is out of the question. I just want to do it myself with some plants I can get at home depot or walmart. I need something a little easy to care fot since I am notorious for killing plants

How do you make garden stepping stones?

I am wanting to make stepping stones, with my kids hand or foot prints, for my parents for Christmas. I want to be more for garden decoration than for stepping on, but also want them to hold up in weather conditions. Does anyone know of such a way for me to do this?

How do i grow my own vestable garden?

Hello
I live In the Bay Area, California. We get plenty of sun now. I would like to grow some tomatoes and other vestables such as peppers and cucumbers and so on.
How do i get started? I have picked a spot for the garden with the most sun, however, the dirt is not very good there, it’s very dry. How much compost should i mix in and is it too late for me to grow a vestable garden??

I need some information as to which plants and flowers are good for this type of garden. I would like a nice variety of colour and smells with little maintenance if this is possible?

How can I start a vegetable/ herb garden in spite of rabbits and mice?

Elaine asked:
We recently moved into our first home (lived in apartments before). I have always been sort of a frustrated gardener- I’ve had lots of container plants. Now that I have a HUGE yard, I want to start a vegetable and herb garden. The problem is, we have lots of rabbits that visit our yard every day, and there are mice in the field behind us (they come into our yard sometimes). I am an animal lover and do not want to poison, trap, or otherwise “get rid of” these animals, but I don’t want them to eat all my veggies (or make the mouse problem worse). Is there anything I can do to protect my garden or discourage these animals from coming in my yard (I have a dog and a cat, but they still come in).

How much water does a vegetable garden need / week if there isn’t any rain?

here2help asked:
We live in the Mid-West if that makes a difference. We are growing pretty much a wide variety and it is a fairly large garden. We also have to pay for our water, so I don’t want to over water and waste. With living in the mid-west we also have clay soil which does not dry out as quickly as sandy soils do. So can anyone give me a really GOOD AND HONEST ballpark figure? Thanks!
